Deadline for Ub – Lajkovac section to be extended under reliable guarantees

Deadline for construction of Ub – Lajkovac section on Koridor XI is already missed and the Government would extend it only if contractors provide reliable guarantees to prove that they are able to meet contractual obligations, the team of Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure concluded on today’s meeting with representatives of "Koridor of Serbia" and "Putevi Uzice".

As Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure announces, the interest of the country is to finish this section in a short space of time an it is obvious that current deadline, 30 June 2014, will be missed.

The Government is eager to extend the deadline for contractors, "Putevi Uzice" and "Planum", to 30 November 2014, without changes in funding, if they meet their obligations regularly, specified Secretary in the Ministry, Dejan Trifunovic.

The Government will insist on strict inspection and expert surveillance on a ten-day basis, he said.

As Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure claims, one kilometer of the road costs EUR 7 million and during last 2.5 years 12 annexes have been signed to the contract.
