Serbian IT market achieved significant growth of 9.24%, reaching the value of USD 1.02 billion, as annual survey of analytic company ''IDC Adriatics'' shows.

Measured in the local currency, the value of IT market has risen by 5.75% comparing to 2012.

For the year 2014, IDC initially predicted a slight increase of the market, about 1.2%, but after recent natural disasters, this prediction is currently being revised.

''IDC Adriatics'' country manager in Serbia, Zorana Juric, said that Serbian IT market will suffer consequences of recent floods.

- IDC is still working on forecast revision which will be issued in the secend half of July, but we can already firmly state that this year will not bring expected growth, but a stagnation, or, more probably slight decrease – said Juric.

However, 2013 brought some positive trends which show that the market is gradually maturing – at first place the project of software legalization for Serbian Government, as well as digitization of business processes in a part of government's institutions.

Many companies have commenced the implementation of ''cloud service'' and ''big data'' application in business, and intensified the use of social networks in everyday business, added Juric.

Majority of technology categories have achieved growth in value in 2013. In hardware segment, dramatical growth is achieved in smart phones and tablets delivery, while a slight growth is noticable in the market of printers for the first time, after four years of steady fall. The value of distributed computers has slightly fallen. The laptop/notebook market has suffered the greatest decrease in delivery values.

Modest growth of value is noticable in the market of servers, while the market of storage devices stagnated.

In 2013 14% of the market were IT services, packet data 10.5% and personal computers 18.2% of the whole value in the domestic IT market during the previous year.

''Assecco'' retained leading position in the domestic IT service market, the same as ''Microsoft'' in packet data market, while HP was at the very top in the market of
computers and printing devices in 2013.
