Private trains on Serbian railways starting from 2009

The General Manager of "Serbian Railways", Milanko Šarančić, announced that the first private trains would appear on Serbian railways in 2009, because, due to lasting of the process of license issuing, the conditions will not be created before.

- Introduction of the private operators into railway transportation of Serbia was enabled two years ago with the passing of the new Law on railways, but, during 2007 and 2008, the conditions can not be created for all those interested in obtaining working license - said Šarančić.

The making of the tariff system for use of railways of Serbia is in progress. The law has already stipulated regulations, terms and methods for obtaining of the working licenses.
