Nikola Petrovic, the general manager of the Elektromreze Srbije (EMS) public company, and Jean Francois Conil-Lacoste, the chairman of the Managing Board of Epex Spot from France, signed May 16th a document concretizing the previous cooperation between the two companies in the establishment of an organized electricity market in Serbia and southeast Europe.

This documents lays foundations for cooperation in the establishment of the joint venture SEEPEX (South East European Power Exchange) that will be 75 percent owned by EMS and 25 percent by Epex Spot, Elektomreze Srbije announced in a release.

The establishment of an organized regional power exchange is a complex process that requires active participation of the most important subjects in the power supply sector, primarily the Ministry, the Energy Agency, EMS and potential market players, as well as a responsible attitude to possible risks, said EMS General Manager Nikola Petrovic.
