China wants to invest in Serbia's mining industry
During their visit to the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce (BCC), they also expressed a wish to get involved in ore exploration in Serbia, it was announced on the BCC website.
After three years of market research, Chinese investors last year registered the BETEC Resources company in Belgrade, a joint investment of Chinese state-owned companies and private investors.
At the initiative of the BETEC company, a protocol on cooperation was signed late last year between the Ministry of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning of Serbia and People's Republic of China, which created a platform for further cooperation in the field of mining and geological research and investment in further exploitation of mines.
BETEC President Luo Zhuangvei noted that it was the most active company in that field in the region, adding that they were interested in working with local partners, exploring mines and investing in the exploitation of mines across the region.
Engineers working at BETEC have more than 30 years of experience in this business in the Chinese market as well as worldwide, especially in the territory of Myanmar, Africa and Malaysia.
