The announcement by the officials of the city of Cacak that Metalac from Gornji Milanovac will start producing kitchen ranges on solid fuel in the civilian section of the Sloboda company this year will most likely turn to be false.
As Metalac General Manager Petrasin Jakovljevic told Ozonpress, it is necessary to first settle Sloboda aparati's debt of EUR 25 million before making any investment. After this debt is cleared, Metalac is ready to resume the production of certain old products from Sloboda's portfolio as well as to launch some new ones.

- Together with Sloboda workers, Metalac prepared a feasibility study. However, in order for us to move on, it is necessary to first resolve all the issues of Sloboda AD from the past - says Jakovljevic.

- According to the data provided by the Privatization Agency, Sloboda has a debt of EUR 25 million towards both creditors and former employees. Once all these issues are resolved, Metalac will still be interested in reviving Sloboda's old production and expanding its portfolio. It all depends on how the reorganization of Sloboda will end -Petrasin Jakovljevic explains.
