Mobil Gruppo Turi opens kitchen factory in Jagodina - Italians to start building second plant worth EUR 4 million this summer
The opening ceremony was attended by Ivica Dacic, the prime minister of the Serbian interim government, and Dragan Markovic Palma, the president of the City Assembly of Jagodina.
- Our task is to employ people in Serbia. The ratio of employees to pensioners is one to one. In such conditions, there is no money to build a socially just system. A vital interest is the growth of gross national product and employment rate. Industrial production grew only few percents in 14 years. We need more seven-mile steps to catch up with those countries that used to lag behind us and are now part of the European Union. We have a sufficent capacity, knowledge and strength, and now we also have a political agreement on the next steps to take - Dacic pointed out. The owner of the Italian company, Vito Turi, expressed gratitude on all the help he got to open this kitchen factory. He added that the construction of new factory, worth EUR 4 million, would start in the summer, explaining that it would employ 200 workers and produce 1,000 kitchen sets a day.
Turi also announced that two more Italian companies would come to Jagodina to produce raw material for kitchens.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Transportation Minister Aleksandar Antic and Ivica Toncev, an adviser to the prime minister.
