Partizan and Zvezda to get arena - Decision made to build new basketball venue in Belgrade
Months-long negotiations have resulted in a decision to make it possible for the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Serbia to invite tenders for the construction of a training facility for basketball clubs Partizan and Crvena Zvezda. The stakes of the Republic of Serbia and the City of Belgrade in the new basketball arena that will be used by Partizan and Crvena Zvezda players will be determined by an agreement by the end of the construction of this facility.
The Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Serbia earmarked funds in the budget for 2014 and the plan for 2015 and 2016 for the construction of a sports arena. The City of Belgrade has provided land, paid the fee for the city building land, ensured the equipping of designated land lots with infrastructure, and secured necessary building permits.
Construction of this sports facility is expected to commence as early as this year.
