The company Centro Štampa Holding that encompasses the retail companies Moj kiosk (Štampa and Futura Plus), Centrosinergija and Centrologistika, opened a plant in Ub yesterday for maintenance and production of kiosks.

The former factory building Kerub in Ub has been renovated for this purpose. After 27 years, production will recommence in the abandoned Energoprojekt hall covering 6,500 m2, bringing it back to life and securing employment for some 30 workers of various kinds.

“Rehabilitation of the former Kerub plant in the Energoprojekt hall and opening the new factory is of exceptional significance both for the local government and for the region”, said Olivera Papić, business operations director for Centro Štampa Holding. “It’s most satisfying for us that this investment will improve the quality of life for the citizens of Ub, not just by creating new jobs but also by significantly improving the look of the location itself. In the first phase we plan to maintain, service and repair kiosks from our existing network, and then to start producing new kiosks, the most modern, specially designed prefabricated sales buildings, as part of the project “My Kiosk”.

The Mayor of Ub, Darko Glišić, opened the new plant in the presence of Milorad Grčić, general director of the Kolubara open-cast mine, together with numerous business people from the region.

“Other companies will come in the near future to occupy the rest of this space, helping the plant to work at full capacity so that the inhabitants of Ub Municipality can find work here and solve their life’s problems”, said Glišić. “I would really like to highlight my collaboration with the company Centro Štampa Holding, the only company to have succeeded in making it possible for a company to emerge from receivership, I’m talking about Futura Plus. This factory will look ever better and ever more people will work here, this is a really great moment, a great day for our municipality.”

The Energoprojekt hall in Ub will be the first production plant for Centro Štampa Holding, since the company is mostly engaged in the retail, logistics and distribution businesses. Dragan Đurđević has been named to manage the plant, a mechanical engineer with 30 years of experience and former general director of Zimpe of Ub.

Centro Štampa Holding employs 3,500 workers, placing it among the largest companies in Serbia. This system has saved two companies from going under, Štampa and Futura. Futura is the first company in Serbia to emerge from receivership in the past 20 years.
