Loans in amount of over 1 billion RSD provided for "start up" business in Serbia in 2007

The credit funds intended for starting of the initial business have been secured, for the year 2007, in amount of 425m RSD.

The program of the credit help for new businessmen is implemented by the ministries of finance, economy, labour, employment and social policy, the DEvelopment Fund of Serbia, as well as the National Employment Agency. The loans are intended for the entrepreneurs and beginners in the business for carrying out of vocational, production and catering activities. The credit funds for starting of business are restricted and they can be used for procurement of fixed assets, office space and, partially, for the provision of permanent capital funds.

All interested can obtain the anticipated funds if they have good business idea. The priority will be given to those younger than 35. The loans for entrepreneurs are limited and they range between 2,500 and 10,000 EUR in dinars. The interest rate is 1% on annual basis, the repayment period is up to three years with the grace period of up to 12 months.

In addition to these credits, there are also micro-credits for self-employment in total amount of 637.5m RSD and these funds will be approved to the unemployed registered with the National Employment Agency, surplus manpower and innovators.
