It is still uncertain who will buy building of Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs in Belgrade's centre

Republic Directorate for Property has not made the decision yet about which buyer will procure the complex of the buildings of Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kneza Miloša Street. That complex was destroyed during the NATO bombing in 1999.

The starting price of the complex of Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, the surface of which is larger than 20,000 square meters, amounted to about 28.8m EUR. The condition was that all bidders, along with the rest of the documentation, present banking guarantees issued by the first-class bank "AA".

The right to participantion had all domestic and foreign juristic and physical persons and the results of the tender should be announced on December 28, 2006.

– The documentation checking procedure has not been finished yet and that is why we can not give any comments. We have started the initiative that the authorized institutions check the worthiness of the banking guarantee of company "Soravia invest". We will made the decision on the basis of the opinion of the National Bank of Serbia and we will also take advice from the legislators, the Ministry of International EConomic Relations and the Privatization Agency – said Milan Tomić, the Manager of the Republic Directorate for Property.

However, according to the source from the Directorate, what is for certain is that only one company - "Soravia invest"- delivered complete documentation on time, that is, it was the only bidder that presented banking guarantee on the day of the opening of the bids.
