This is the guiding principle of Belgrade-based DD Handmade Shoes which produces high-quality handmade custom shoes. Every pair bears a stamp with the buyer`s surname, which contributes to its uniqueness.

Dusan Dokic`s workshop combines tradition, skills, art and special relationship with clients. What is it that makes these shoes different from the rest in our market?

- Ready-made and custom-made footwear are two completely different things. I make luxury shoes. Every shoe I make is specially designed to give the client a feeling of comfort and elegance – Dusan Dokic explains to eKapija.

Dokic says it is impossible to make two pairs of shoes that are exactly the same. Handmade shoes are produced in a traditional way. DD Handmade Shoes makes shoes from top-quality calfskin. The inside of the shoe is also made of leather, and so is the sole and heel that consists of several layers of calfskin.

Depending on the model picked by the client and the shoemaker`s workload, it takes between 25 and 45 days to make one pair of shoes.

- Buyers are both men and women with an advanced style. They primarily appreciate quality and comfort. Given that I prefer making men`s footwear, the majority of my clients are men. Buyers come to our workshop after scheduling an appointment by phone, email or on our website – says our interlocutor.

Dusan Dokic now makes between 50 and 60 shoes a year. All materials are imported from Italy.

- I take pride in the fact that all materials we use come from the most famous factories in Italy.

He is a regular visitor to the trade fairs of raw materials that are held twice a year in Bologna, the footwear fair in Milan, and the very popular Pitti trade fair held in Florence.

Shoes made by DD Handmade Shoes are priced at between 300 and 350 euros per pair.
