Fiat to change its name?
Following its merger with the U.S. company Chrysler that should be completed by the end of January and result in the establishment of the world's seventh largest carmaker, the Fiat Group holding company will change its name, said Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne in an interview with the Rome daily La Repubblica. Where the headquarters of the resulting company will be situated depends on where its shares will be listed - in Milan or in New York.
The newly established company will focus on the manufacture of luxury models such as Alfa Romeo and Maserati because in the mass production of cars there is "too much competition, margins are too small, and the future is complicated," Marchionne noted and said to Germany's Volkswagen they could only dream about buying Alfa Romeo production.
