Halva from Serbia in foreign markets - 170 tonnes of Arab confection produced by Alvasari from Arandjelovac
Arandjelovac-based company Alvasari produced 70 tonnes of tahan halva in 2013 and exported half of that to various countries, including Greece. Alvasari also produces sesame paste.
Alvasari's owner Salam Odeh, who came from Palestine to Serbia 32 years ago, told FoNet that the demand for that oriental confection was constantly on a rise, adding that that was the reason why they had increased both production and export by 10 percent in 2013.
Tahan halva that this company produces using the Arab technology is exported to regional countries, Russia and Near East countries.
