PARIVODIĆ: French investors more and more interested in Serbian economy

The Minister of International Economic Relations, Milan Parivodić, spoke yesterday (December 13, 2006) in Paris with the representatives of "UBIFRANCE", French agency for international development of enterprises and the representatives of French companies interested in investment in Serbia.

- The impression is that the Frenchmen are more and more interested in our economy, which is in ascent - said Parivodić.

At the meeting in which the President of "UBIFRANCE", Rene Andrej, the representatives of French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Head of Economic Department of French Embassy to Belgrade, Pjer Kost, French businessmen and ambassadors of these two countries participated, the main subjects were business environment in Serbia, new laws and privatization, as well as appearance of French companies on Serbian market.

French companies "Gaz de France", "Veolia Water", which prepared wastewater treatment project for Kruševac, and company for production of freight vehicles, which wants to open the factory in Serbia, showed that they are interested in investments in Serbia.

French businessmen expressed interest in procurement of insurance company "DDOR Novi Sad", as well as in investment in power supply sector and communications.
