The Ministry of Finance has announced today that after a long-term and detailed analysis of business results of the Tax administration and a discussion of the Minister of Finance, Lazar Krstic with the acting Tax administration manager, Ivan Simic, it was agreed that Simic resigns.

The Ministry of Finance thanked Ivan Simic for all the efforts he put into development of Tax administration work.

The Tax administration will continue working on modernization of this institution and intensify efforts on developing primary functions of tax control and collection.

The Ministry of Finance will announce by Tuesday, December 31, a proposal for appointment of a new acting Tax administration manager.

Upon his resignation, Ivan Simic said that the Tax administration operates well, that many reforms have been implemented successfully and that it is the first time the Tax administration treats all tax payers equally.

- The Tax administration this year collected the highest amount of tax in the history of tax administration, the payment collection will be one of the best this year and electronic business is becoming an everyday part of tax payers’ business operations which was my most important objective. I wish and I hope that new tax administration management will continue planned reforms and that it will end them by the end of 2014.
