New simplifed electricity bills as of January 2014
The citizens of Serbia will receive simplified electricity bills for their consumption in January 2014. These bills will be clear and easy to understand. In the first quarter of 2014, the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) will be legally transformed from a public company into a joint-stock company, the EPS said in a release.
Following a constitutive session of the EPS Supervisory Board, Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic said that the new statute had been adopted at that session, adding that it should also be adopted by the Serbian government by the year's end and put into effect eight days later.
Aca Markovic, chairman of the EPS Supervisory Board, said that the new statute of the EPS would be the first step towards corporatization of that public company and its transformation into a joint stock company.
