Government of Serbia and EIB signed contract on loan worth 160m EUR intended for rehabilitation of railway and health care sectors

The Minister of International Economic Relations and Coordinator of the Ministry of Finance, Milan Parivodić, and the vice president of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Đerlando Đenuardi, have signed the contracts on financing of the project for rehabilitation of the railways and the Clinical Center of Serbia, according to which 80m EUR will be allotted to each of these institutions.

The means intended for the health care sector will be invested in the modernization and improvement of four clinical centers in Serbia - in Belgrade, Kragujevac, Niš and Novi Sad, said Parivodić and added that, thanks to that, the health care services in Serbia would be essentially improved.

According to his words, the means intended for "Railways of Serbia" would be invested in the reconstruction and modernization of 93 kilometers of railway on Corridor 10 on sections Niš-Dimitrovgrad-Bulgarian border, Gilje-Ćuprija-Paraćin, from Batajnica to the border with Croatia, as well as for construction of the bridge near Ćuprija.

The deadline for repayment of loan of EIB intended for health care sector is 25 years with the grace period of 5 years, while the repayment period for the loan approved to Serbian railways is 20 years with the grace period of 5 years.
