Our wheat in Africa - Record export of Serbian wheat
Serbia has exported one million tonnes of wheat since early July, which is an absolute record, and penetrated new markets, such as Africa, with bread wheat, Vukosav Sakovic, director of the Zita Srbija (Wheat of Serbia) company, told Tanjug news agency.
Sunflower exports are also at record highs with 110,000 tonnes exported in three months, Sakovic said and added that Serbia had exported 400,000 tonnes of corn since the harvest, which was also a satisfactory result.
He pointed out that the total value of grain exports from Serbia since the beginning of this economic year had reached about EUR 300 million, stressing that the FX inflow from the export of these goods was at between 600 million and 1 billion euros.
