SBERBANK: We do not negotiate acquisition of bank in Serbia
Sberbank is focused on the integration of existing assets within the Sberbank Group, said people at that bank.
Novosti previously announced that Sberbank was interested in taking over a large bank in Serbia, adding that it would most likely choose between Banca Intesa and Komercijalna Banka.
In Russia, Sberbank's assets account for 28.2 percents of all assets in the banking sector. The bank employs over 245,000 people, which makes it the biggest bank in the country.
Sberbank began operating under that name in Serbia late last year, after it had bought the offices of Austria's Volksbank in southeast Europe, including those in Serbia.
