Gorenje Solar, which develops solar power stations as part of the Gorenje Group, has finished the construction of solar power plants on the roof of Gorenje factory in Valjevo and on the eaves of the parking lot of its factory in Zajecar, Gorenje Solar CEO Rok Lesjak told eKapija.

- All power stations are completed, we've done the technical part of the job, and the only thing yet to be done is to connect these panels to the grid, which we expect to be completed by the end of 2013 – said our interlocutor.

The solar power plant on the roof of Gorenje's new factory in Valjevo has a capacity of 250 kilowatts and can produce enough electricity to supply power to 75 households.

The solar power plant in Zajecar is made up of 928 solar panels with a total capacity of 222 kilowatts. It is expected to annually produce 258 MWh of electric energy, which should secure enough electricity for 57 households. Besides, this power plant will also significantly contribute to the reduction of carbon-dioxide emission by 180 tonnes a year.
