About 60 percent of EU internet users shop online
About 60 percent of EU internet users aged between 16 and 74 shop online, the EU statistical office Eurostat announced.
Online shopping is the most popular among the citizens of the United Kingdom (82% of
internet users), Denmark and Sweden (both 79%), Germany (77%), Luxembourg (73%) and Finland (72%).
The lowest shares of online shoppers are registered in Romania (11%), Bulgaria (17%), and Estonia and Italy (both 29%), Itar-tass has reported.
Eurostat's survey has showed that ordering clothes and sports goods and booking travel and holiday accommodation are the most common online purchases amongst EU internet users.
Active internet users in the European Union account for 75 percent of the working age population.
