Geological survey that Mining and Smelter Basin (RTB) Bor has been conducting since 2009 shows that newly discovered ore deposits contain over USD 1 billion worth of copper ores. New survey will soon start in the vicinity of Knjazevac, in the area between Minicevo and Novo Korito.

- The total value of metals in newly discovered ore deposits exceeds USD 1 billlion, meaning that the survey has completely met the expectations - Trajca Toncic, manager of the Geology Sector at Bor Copper Mine, told Tanjug news agency.

In 2009, aside from equipping the mines and modernizing the flotations, RTB Bor began extensive geological surveys with the aim of both discovering new ore deposits with as much copper as possible and providing more than 60,000 tonnes of concentrate a year, which is the amount necessary to keep the new smelter in operation. So far, about EUR 5 million have been invested in the procurement of modern drills and other equipment.
