Basketball fairy-tale in Kosutnjak – Sports hall Zarkovo opens its doors to young sportsmen of Belgrade
Basketball club Zarkovo, after years of dealing with the issues of training and match space, got its home this fall. In early September, in Kosutnjak, which has always been a sports part of the city, the Zarkovo hall was opened so the capital got another representative sports facility.
Kids who play other sports, sports fans and recreation people now have a reason for joy. The sports hall Zarkovo "was designed to provide diverse activities on 3.200 square meters – preparations of sports clubs, games, recreation, fitness. It consists of multi functional hall which can be divided into two separate halls, a futsal court with artificial grass, a gym and two fitness halls. Apart from that, there are 11 modernly-equipped wardrobes with showers and floor heating.
The sports hall, where new stars of Serbia basketball will develop, was built by a Belgrade-based Gramis invest. Their mission was to enable a quality training space for kids.
- The owners, Stanko Djapic and Milos Spasenovic, former basketball players of Zarkovo, a few years ago, revitalized the club. There were more and more kids playing basketball but they did not have space for trainings. Therefore, they opted to construct a sports hall, first of all, for kids – sports schools, clubs which have younger categories and of course basketball club Zarkovo – hall manager, Zoran Djurkovic, explains for eKapija.
The Sportikus school is already organizing trainings in Kosutnjak and many other schools are interested in the hall.
The construction of the hall, designed by Dragan Stojiljkovic, lasted some year and a half. It is important to mention that this is not a balloon-hall or an assembling facility but that the hall is completely built of the solidi material. It has the most modern air condition and heating system, modern interior, etc.
A multi practice hall has two side basketball courts, i.e. one central. All courts are in line with the FIBA regulations, with dimensions of 28x15 meters so it is possible to organize sports competitions of the hughest standards. Apart from that, the hall is convenient for volleyball as well as all others hall sports.
However, this facility is heated through quartz gas-driven heaters (such as Vrsac-based Millenium) and the hall is equipped with a modern air conditioning system which enables the whole air quantity to change in only 10 minutes. The hall can host 800 spectators and the tribunes have 350 sitting places.
Futsal court is ideal for 10 to 12 players. It has artificial grass with granulate and rubber floor of 2,5 cm and occupies an area of 36x18 meters. There are chairs behind the goal where 70 spectators can sit.
The gym on 250 square meters has body building devices and other equipment as well as modern cardio program.
Spacious fitness halls have central heating and natural air conditioning. They are convenient for all fitness programs and are wired excellently.
There in a café bar U zmajevom gnezdu within the facility where it is possible to organize kids’ birthdays. The hall has its own parking with 35 places.
