According to the Belgrade daily newspaper Informer, Lazar Krstic, the man who the media have already declared the most serious candidate for the new finance minister, proposed a set of measures that could lead to a significant progress in the local economy to Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic last week.

Informer writes that the document submitted to Aleksandar Vucic lists the biggest problems faced by Serbia, including corruption, unemployment, complicated procedures, and "the hope for a better tomorrow."

The document includes six points that represent measures to be taken, which are as follows:

1. Zero tolerance towards tax debtors: all people, including tycoons, must pay their debts.

2. Introduction of progressive taxation: wealthier people will be paying higher taxes.

3. Maximum opening of the country to investment and the acceleration of permitting procedures.

4. All problems experienced by companies in bankruptcy and restructuring are to be urgently solved.

5. Finding strategic partners for public companies and establishing partnerships modeled on the Etihad-Jat Airways deal

6. Attracting as many young experts as possible to return from abroad.

Lazar Krstic has two conditions: maximum political support and a guarantee that nobody will interfere in his work.
