Sberbank to provide EUR 18 million gaurantee to Mercator on behalf of Agrokor
Russia's Sberbank has issued EUR 18 million guarantee to the Slovenian retailer Mercator on behalf of Agrokor. This money will go to Slovenians if they fail to sell the company to the Croatian firm.
However, this scenario is practically impossible as an agreement to transfer shares after the final sale has already been signed, the Ljubljana daily newspaper Finance reports.
According to the business web portal SeeBiz, Mercator's loans are yet to be rescheduled, which should be done in October, and people at Mercator said in the meantime that they were satisfied with the issue of EUR 6.6 million five-month commercial bills.
