Leskovac rents out 2,121 hectares of state-owned agricultural land - Auction to take place around June 15th
The City of Leskovac will offer 2,121 hectares of state-owned land for rent at an auction in mid-June, Head of the City Administration for Economy and Agriculture Boban Sokolovic announced.
Sokolovic told Tanjug news agency that the city expected this to bring a revenue of nearly RSD 10 million.
- Every auction so far has attracted a great interest, and we expect no less from the next one. We plan to organize an auction around June 15th, and offer this state-owned land for rent at between 10,000 and 24,000 dinars per hectare, depending on the land category - said Sokolovic.
People at the local self-government explain that auction participants will be able to rent up to 50 hectares of land, which should prevent those enormously rich people from leasing large areas and, thus, leaving small manufacturers without land.
Most of the land lots offered for rent once belonged to the long since ruined public company Poljoprivreda.
