EU to give EUR 2.5 million for pollution reduction in Serbia
The European Union will provide EUR 2.5 million to finance the implementation of European legislation in the field of industrial pollution control, prevention of chemical accidents, and the improvement of environment management in Serbia, it was said May 24th at a conference dedicated to that project.
This project will last for two years with its main goal being to help the Ministry of Energy, Development and Environment Protection harmonize the national legislation with EU legal norms relating to the environment.
State Secretary of the Energy Ministry Vladan Zdravkovic has pointed out that Serbian regulations in that domain must be harmonized with those of the European Union, adding that the domestic economy "will not be left in the lurch."
