"Knauf Insulation" operates successfully in Serbia- production increased by 217%

French multinational company "Knauf Insulation", which deals with the production of heating and sound insulation and the equipment for fire protection, increased the production of stone wool in factory "Vunizol" in Surdulica by 217% in the first eight months of this year against the same period in 2005.

"Vunizol", which was bought by French company in 2005, registered record production in July 2006 in amount of 1,800 tons of stone wool, which is used as an insulation material in civil engineering and industry, and delivered it to the buyers in Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia and Greece.

French company registered production growth of 41% in Serbia during eight months of this year, whereas its production growth on the foreign market amounted to 349%.

"Knauf Insulation" dedicates great attention to the application of European standards in the environment protection, so that the disassembling of the old line for non-impregnated wool is in progress in "Vunizol", which will result in big reduction of environment pollution.

There are also large investments in that factory in the renovation of the infrastructure. By the end of July 2007, the projected investments in amount of more than 16m EUR will be ralized.

On the occasion of his visit to factory "Vunizol" in September, general manager of company "Knauf Insulation", Toni Robson, expressed his satisfaction with the situtation in the company, plans for the future and the positions of the employees, and he said that the aim of the company was to strengthen the leading position in the production and sale of insulation materials for civil engineering and industry.
