Israeli businessmen interested in investing in Serbia's agriculture - Free Trade Agreement in preparation

Agriculture Minister Goran Knezevic told the national broadcasting company RTS on Monday (6 May 2013) that Israeli businessmen were very interested in investing in Serbia's agriculture because our country had high-quality land, but added that it was necessary to eliminate duties in order to make that investment happen.

Knezevic said that the Serbian government would adopt a free trade measure in the near future, that is, ink an agreement with Israel that would exempt both countries from customs duties.

He noted that the 2013 budget for agriculture was 40 percent bigger than in 2012, adding that the money had already been earmarked for incentives for manufacturers.

- Our farmers will see an improvement this year - he said.
