Atlas Banka plans to return to Serbian market - Montenegrin bank eyes Jubmes Banka
Montenegro's Atlas Banka plans to return to the Serbian banking market by taking over one of the local banks with Jubmes Banka being the most interesting to them, Atlas Banka's owner Dusko Knezevic said last night.
- We are now in the research phase. Jubmes Banka is the most interesting, but there are also another six or seven banks that are attractive to us, and we will most probably enter into this deal with our partners from the United Arab Emirates - Knezevic told the press at the promotion of the Atlas Group services.
According to Knezevic, Atlas Group performed an in-depth analysis of banks in the Serbian market last year, and may buy one of them within the next few months.
- Atlas Banka's plan for the future is to strengthen its presence in the region by opening offices in Kosovo-Metohia as well as by returning to the Serbian banking market through the acquisition of a stake in one of the local banks - he said.
Atlas Banka
Atlas Banka currently has only one branch office in Serbia. The Atlas Group is comprised of three banks - Invest Banka Montenegro, Atlas Banka Montenegro, Atlas Banka Moscow, two branch offices - one in Serbia and one in Cyprus, and an investment fund.
