Forming reference laboratories and ensuring equal working criteria for all authorized laboratories is an obligation of Serbia in the EU integration process, it was pointed out during the talks between Serbian Agriculture Minister Goran Knezevic and the representatives of the Netherlands and Denmark on March 20th.

According to a release issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Knezevic met in Belgrade with the ambassadors of the Netherlands and Denmark to Belgrade, Laurent Stokvis and Mette Kuel Nielsen, and their main topic for dicussion was the establishment of national reference laboratories in Serbia.

They came to a conclusion that the inherited problems from the period 2003-2012 have caused the implementation of the national reference laboratory project to be very slow, the release reads.

The meeting was also an occasion to consider opportunities for overcoming legal, organizational and equipment procurement problems, and all sides agreed on the need to keep making capital investments in the fit-out of national reference laboratories.
