"Srpska banka" to merge with Postal Savings Bank
- Through merging of "Srpska banka" and Postal Savings Bank, the bank that is 100% owned by the State will be created. That bank will have total capital of about 45m EUR - the general manager of Postal Savings Bank Dejan Savović announced.
- According to the decision of the Government of Serbia of December 15, 2005, the deadline for merging of two banks was July 1, 2006, but that did not happen and Postal Savings Bank could not have done anything about it - said Savović.
He pointed out that the decision about merging of the two banks in the majority ownership of the State was still in effect and he added that one of the proposals for the name of the new bank was Serbian Postal Savings Bank.
