Gazprom to buy state-owned stake in Croatia's INA?
According to the Moscow Times, the Croatian government may sell its stake in the national oil company INA, and the first in the line to buy that stake may be the Russian national gas company Gazprom, whose officials have recently visited Croatia. The acquisition of a stake in INA would perfectly fit into Gazprom's investment strategy.
Let us remind that Gazprom officials met with the representatives of the Croatian government and President Ivo Josipovic in Zagreb.
Among the rest, Gazprom is interested in building gas power plants and exploring oil and gas in Croatia, First Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia Vesna Pusic revealed after the meeting held some ten days ago.
Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller stressed that aside from the construction of a gas-powered thermal power station, Gazprom was also interested in supplying natural gas derivatives as fuel for vehicles.
