KALANOVIC: Agreement with the Chinese by end-February 2013
Minister of Regional Development and Local Self-Government Verica Kalanovic announced today that an agreement on the construction of two regional highways - the Morava Corridor from Pojate to Preljina and the Novi Sad-Ruma highway - would be signed with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBS) by the end of February.
As Kalanovic told TV Pink, talks with the mayors and presidents of municipalities lying on the route of the Morava Corridor about the commencement of its construction are scheduled for tomorrow.
This meeting will be attended by the officials of Krusevac, Varvarin, Cicevac, Vrnjacka Banja, Cacak and Kraljevo.
Kalanovic reminded that a preliminary agreement on the construction of two regional highways in Serbia was signed with the Chinese company in December 2012.
The total length of both roads is approximately 140 kilometers, whereas the value of the preliminary agreement is EUR 642 million. Construction of a tunnel through Fruska Gora is also in the pipeline, and this tunnel will be part of the highway section from Novi Sad to Ruma.
