Public services employees to be able soon to compete for some of 3,655 apartments in which Government of Serbia will invest 150m EUR
- Government of Serbia will invest 150m EUR from the means of the National Investment Plan in the construction of 3,655 apartments in 23 cities of the Republic, intended for employees of State administration and public service - Minister of Finance Mlađan Dinkić announced.
The apartments will be offered to the public service employees and the prices will range between 300 and 850 EUR per square meter, depending on the city.
Dinkić stated that the employees in the public service and public sector, of which there are about 300,000 in Serbia, would be able to compete for the apartment they could buy on credit on period of 20 years with annual interest rate of 0.5% and with downpayment of 20%.
The downpayment and the first installments will have to be paid right after the buyer moves in the apartment. The plan was that all apartment be completed by the end of the year 2007, said Dinkić and added that the Government of Serbia would announce open competition for procurement of apartments in autumn.
