- Next year, over 300m EUR will be invested in the improvement of health care services in Serbia. The National Investment Plan implies investment of 161m EUR, whereas another 150m EUR will be provided from the credit approved by European Investment Bank (EIB) -the Minister of Health of Serbia, Tomica Milosavljević, announced.

On the occasion of his visit to reconstructed Health Center in Ćuprija, he said that soon none of the medical workers could say that necessary machines or materials for surgery were missing.

The contract on "Urgent rehabilitation of medical institutions in Serbia", thanks to which the Health Center in Ćuprija has been reconstructed, was signed by the Government of Serbia and EIB in October 2003 and it was ratified by the Federal Parliament on March 15, 2004. So far, as it was said, "almost everything has been realized". What is left is to have five hospitals rehabilitated: Zvezdara, Zemun, Leskovac, Zaječar and Subotica. The works in Sombor and Kikinda are still in progress, although everything should be finished prior to June 2007.
