Municipalities in Pirot region to receive EUR 1.5 million under cross-border cooperation program with Bulgaria
Municipalities in the Pirot region can count on about EUR 1.5 million worth of financial support from the EU Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) under the Serbia-Bulgaria cross-border cooperation program.
Jugmedia news agency learns that the money will be used to finance five projects in the municipality of Pirot, one in Bela Palanka, one in Dimitrovgrad and one in the municipality of Babusnica.
- These are all joint projects with municipalities from Bulgaria, which are mainly focused on the development of infrastructure and sports and cultural facilities, waste collecting, promotion of cross-border cooperation and the revitalization of parks - said Goran Stamenovic, chief of the Pirot administrative region.
