Construction of 180-hectare logistics center in Bogojevo near Odzaci in the pipeline - Up to EUR 6 million required for first phase
(Port of Dunav Bogojevo)
According to the AP Vojvodina Regional Spatial Plan, Odzaci Spatial Plan and Odzaci's municipal strategic development documents, a contemporary logistics center should be built in Bogojevo. The future logistics center will span about 180 hectares in the vicinity of the Port of Dunav Bogojevo and represent a development chance not only for the municipality of Odzaci, but also for the broader region. The estimates are that between 4.5 and 6 million euros are required for the first phase of construction of this logistics center, Radio Odzaci reports.
Presentation of a study on the possibilities of formation and development of a logistics center in Bogojevo was organized last week by the Odzaci municipality, Vojvodina Transport and Logistics Cluster and the Port of Bogojevo. This presentation was held by Milan Vucinic, cluster manager and advisor to the CEO of Serbian Railways.
The aim of the presentation was to present the possibilities of implementing Odzaci's strategic plans in the fields of transport and logistics, as well as to show that the location of the logistics center has all that is required for that center to grow into the first trimodal logistics center in Serbia.
Odzaci Mayor Izabela Seric stressed that Odzaci had taken a big step in attracting foreign investors and creating a favorable business climate in the previous period. Seric also pointed out that the construction of a logistics center would help reduce the costs of transport and create a chance for the employment of certain number of people.
Milan Vucinic explained that the logistics center would span an area of 182 hectares divided into eight zones.
In order to implement these ideas easier, the municipality has formed a cluster with the following companies: RK, Hipol, Hibrid and the Port of Bogojevo.
Plans for the construction of a logistics center in Bogojevo are closely connected with the development plans of the Port of Dunav Bogojevo. The Port plans to boost its storage capacity from 30,000 to 90,000 tonnes and its reloading capacity to a total of 1.5 million tonnes of goods per year. One of the preconditions for that is to revitalize a 2.5-kilometer railroad connecting the Port with the railway station in Bogojevo.
