Krusevac-based 14. Oktobar and Prva petoletka will try to find a strategic partner, Aleksa Santic money for irrigation and livestock increase, the Atomic Spa HTP Fontana from Vrnjačka banja will present its potentials, and industrial and free zones from Novi Sad, Leskovac, Pirot, Subotica, Ecka and Zmic will present themselves to the Russian market.

These are just some of 150 projects to be presented September 25 on a large Investment Conference in Moscow.

Despite the global crisis and demand decrease, Serbia never once had stagnant growth in exports to the Russian Federation and CIS states. Total trade between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation for 1H2012totaled USD 1451.2 mil and has generated a fall of 14.7% compared to the same period last year. Serbian exports recorded a slight growth of some 5% compared to last year trends and its nominal value totals USD 375 mil.

Confirmation of priority importance of economic and overall relations between Serbia and the Russian Federation is the crucial reason for the organization of the large Investment Conference of Serbia in Moscow.

Miroslav Mitkovic, advisor of the President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, said for eKapija that the objectives of the conference were- attracting Russian investments, opening new vacancies,emphasizing opportunities of free trade agreements with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, EU, CEFTA, EFTA, Turkey .

As Mitkovic said, it was essential to point out the options of opening the markets of the European Union, CEFTA, EFTA and Turkey for the Russian companies via production launch in Serbia.

The Serbian Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with regional chambers of commerce and municipalities in Serbia, has collected about 150 projects for the upcoming investment conference while the priority field as energy, mining, agriculture and food industry, metallurgy and machine building, furniture,building materials, transport, science and innovation, tourism ...

- At the conference, we will present our power plants, hydroelectric plants, Serbian power transmission grid, the Stavlj mine, companies such as Aleksa Santic PIK Aleksinac, Vrsacki vinogradi, Grand Eko Agrar, 14. oktobar Krusevac,Trstenik-based Prva petoletka, Kragujevac-based Orion, Mladenovac-based Peter Drapsin concern, Priboj –based Corporation – Mitkovic is numbering.

In addition, potential investments in the production of passenger and freight cars, tank trucks, containers (Kraljevo-based coach factory, Gosa, Zelvoz), inter modal transport (Novi Sad, Belgrade, Kostolac),operations in industrial and free zones (Novi Sad, Leskovac , Pirot, Subotica, Ecka Zmic),beauty spas (Atomic Spa, Fontana Vrnjačka banja, ....) will be presented.

According to our interviewee,Serbian projects will be presented to potential investors, companies, Russian companies which are members of the trade-industrial chamber of Serbia, to representatives of Russian mother companies with branch offices in Serbia and to their partners via presentations and a bilateral direct talks.

Miroslav Mitkovic is adding there are serious announcements with respect to investing in Serbian and an interest in using convenient terms for investors.

It is left to see what the big investment conference will result in and current indicators say that the most common products at the Russian market are fresh apples, flooring, pipes, adhesives, rubber, lead-acid batteries and tubes.
