German sugar manufacturer "Nordcuker" from Braunšvajg has bought the shares in factories in Serbia and, in that way, entered sugar production for the first time on the territory outside EU.

That company, which is the second biggest German sugar manufacturer, while trying to avoid strict regulations that relate to the sugar market in EU, founded joint venture with group "MK Commerce" Miodrag Kostić.

According to the announcements from Braunšvajg, "Nordcuker" will have 51% of ownership in the newly founded company "Sunoko". German company stated that "Sunoko" would be the majority owner of four sugar factories of "MK Commerce" - in Bač, Vrbas, Pećinci and Kovačica.

"Nordcuker", with the factories in Germany, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, is one of the leading sugar production companies in Europe.
