Smederevo gets a Free Zone

Smederevo was given a free zone, which covers 100 hectares and 47 acres, and the opening ceremony was attended by Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac, mayor of Smederevo Predrag Umičević and Belgian Ambassador to Serbia Allen Kundicki.

- This kind of free zones encourage economic development, enable the attraction of investment, but also make job opportunities for local citizens and thus economic stability - said Sutanovac.

Initial capital of the new company is 25,000 EUR, and the founders are the town of Smederevo, a Belgian company Metech Ltd, which already operates in Smederevo, each with 30% share in total capital of the company. Ten percent share will have "Intermehanika", "Mitrašinović", "Nafta" company for Belgrade and a company for reloading of goods "Tomitrade".
