Austrian companies invested more than 1 billion EUR in Serbia over past few years

- The advantages of Serbia are: the location in the center of the Balkans and the fact that Belgrade is the biggest city on the territory from Istanbul to Vienna. Besides, thanks to the agreement on free trade with the countries in the region and Russia and the benefits related to the trade with EU, Serbia provides access to the market with about 650 million citizens - Milan Parivodić, Serbian Minister of INternational Economic Relations, pointed out at the meeting of the Viennese Economic Forum, which has been recently held in Belgrade.

On that occasion, he pointed to the fact that Austrian companies had invested somewhat over 1 billion EUR in Serbia. Among them are companies "Asamer" and "Lafarge", which invested 58m EUR in Beočin, "Hypo Alpe Adria" bank whose investment amounts to 85m EUR, Raiffeisen - 50m EUR, Volks bank - 35m EUR, HVB bank - 82m EUR, Metro Cash and Carry - 15m EUR and "Henkel" - 32m EUR.
