On Friday (April, 20, 2012), Minister of Interior Affairs, Ivica Dacic festively opened Technology Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing "Muehlbauer" in Stara Pazova, worth 10 million euros.

Dacic said that the factory was the fruit of cooperation between Serbian and German experts and it was extremely important for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as it will make passports and identity documents of exceptional quality and with high level of protection.

Minister said that so far there hadn't been any reported cases of falsification of the new Serbian biometric passports, and he pointed out that from the factory in Stara Pazova it would be possible "to expand business with many countries of Europe and the world."

Dacic stressed the importance of cooperation and trust with the company, "Muehlbauer", recalling that cooperation began in 2003 , when the first contract had been signed.

Thanks to cooperation with the firm, "Nikola Tesla" Airport received donations in 2010 in the form of electronic gate, and thus became the third airport in Europe, where citizens pass passport control without the presence of customs officials.

At the opening of the center was also Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric, who noted that this high-tech manufacturing center would also be developmental and educational.

According to his words, there would work domestic engineers and experts, and they would establish cooperation with Uganda and Georgia, where "Muehlbauer" has sister companies.

- So in this way we will export the local intelligence. The Serbian government will strive to fulfill what they promised - to hire 50 professionals by the end of the year and to expand the center. This must be a second home to "Muehlbauer" - Ciric said.

Company founder and president, "Muehlbauer Group" Jozef Meuhlbauer said he was impressed with the cooperation of the Serbian government and the group he led and added that he was honored to to cooperate with Serbia, and from Serbia with the rest of the world.

- I believe this is an excellent investment in Serbia. We are beginning a big story here and we will be led by our Serbian team. There is a big investment behind us, but regardless of that I want to thank for support, confident that we will soon have 1000 new workers - said Meuhlbauer.

The Director-General "Muehlbauer" Bojan Stojadinovic said that the company employed 80 highly skilled professionals, that the factory was built on the one quarter of obtained premises from the municipality, and that the goal was to have the factory expanded in the future in that area.

President of Stara Pazova Municipality, Goran Jovic said that the Serbian local governments were capable of massive investment, which was proved by Stara Pazova with building this factory for less than six months.
