EPS plans to build brick factory within Kolubara Mining Basin
The Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) plans to have a brick factory built on the grounds of Kolubara Mining Basin. The factory would be using available raw materials such as clay, waste coal and tailings from coal processing at Kolubara. The EPS invited bids during February 2012 for the design of a Study on the Possibility of Construction of a Brick Factory and then stopped the procedure.
As the EPS explained in the Official Gazette, the procedure was stopped because both bids, the one submitted by the Belgrade Faculty of Mining and Geology and the other by the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Belgrade, were irregular, which is why the decision to stop the procedure was made in line with the Article 79, paragraph 1 of the Law on Public Procurements.
