Stanko Popovic withdraws from Victoria Group - Businessman sold 6% stake in Sojaprotein for EUR 5 million
(Stanko Popovic)
Victoria Group paid EUR 5 million to Stanko Popovic the day before yesterday. As Blic daily learns, Popovic has sold a 6-percent stake in Becej-based Sojaprotein, which is the first concrete step that indicates his withdrawal from Victoria Group.
Popovic sold nearly 894,000 shares to Victoria Group at the price of RSD 599 a piece. Unofficially, Popovic may soon start a cement business in Sabac, and his departure from Victoria Group is brought in connection with the fact that he and his partners have different visions of the company's further growth.
Victoria Group is mainly owned by domestic businessmen, but foreigners also hold a stake in it. About 64% of shares were in the possession of Stanko Popovic, Milija Babovic and Zoran Mitrovic.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) holds a 24-percent stake in the group, while 12 percent of shares are owned by businessman Nandi Ahuja.
