Austrians decided to tame Pannonian wind - company "Windrise" plans construction of about 60 windmills on territory of Irig and Inđija
The representatives of Austrian company for trading and services "Windrise" announced their intention for construction of about 60 wind turbines or, simply said, windmills for production of electric energy on the territory of Vojvodina's municipalities of Irig and Inđija.
The negotiations with the mayors of these two municipalities, Radovan Ercegović and Goran Ješić, have already started. How many windmills will be constructed depends on the most importatn precondition - velocity and frequency of wind in the regions of Irig and Inđija.
According to the announcement of the Austrian partners, one windmill requires investment of 2.5m EUR, whereas the mayor of Irig, Radovan Ercegović, says that that Municipality, if entire project is realized, can earn about 70,000 EUR per windmill on annual basis.
As far as such production of electricity in Europe is concerned, Germany is leader with 18,000 windmills that produce more than one third of total wind energy in the world. It is followed by USA, Spain and Netherlands with 16%. Also, Denmark obtains 20% of its total energy from the wind.
The countries on the territory of southeast Europe are taking this alternative fuel more seriously than before. Thus, Hungary built about 10 windmills in 2005, whereas Romania and Croatia are just about to start that job of the future.
In the Balkanian region, as a matter of fact, only Serbia, Montenegro, MAcedonia and Albania still behave as the wind blows only to set dust and dirt in the motion.
