Thanks to the initiative of the union of citizens "Edukacioni centar" (Educational Center) from Leskovac, in cooperation with NGO's "ABC" from Vranje and "Inicijativa" from Prokuplje, the Center for Sustainable Development of South of Serbia was founded on May 12, 2006.
It is the organization that should provide support to the commercial subjects, local self-managements and public companies in the procedure of elaboration of strategic and project documentations, education of their members, as well as better mutual communication and communication with the heads of republic institutions and international development partners.
The Center's founding convention was held in the presence of 14 persons - founders, 20 representatives of commercial subjects, banks, NGO's and media from the territory of the Jablanica, Pčinj and Toplica regions, as well as the representatives if the Fund for Development of Municipality of Leskovac.
On the same day, the solemn part of the Founding convention was held and the presenters were members of the Team for Implementation of the Poverty Reduction Strategy in REpublic of Serbia, the Team for Elaboration of Sustainable Development Strategy of Serbia, Serbian Ministry of of International Economic Relations, SIEPA and Belgrade's magazine "Ekonomist".
The offices of the newly founded Center for Sustainable Development of the South of Serbia (CORJS) are settled in the Stojana Ljubica Street in Leskovac. The phone and fax number of that organization is 016/ 215-413.
