After waiting for more than five months, the municipality of Srbobran finally had its study on the lease of land in industrial zones A and B approved by the Government of the Republic of Serbia on December 8th. This municipality submitted a request to the republic administration, along with complete documentation, on June 21st, but it had to wait for a positive response until the year's end, it was announced on the official municipal website.

- The most significant information we've learned lately is that the Government of the Republic of Serbia approved our study on the procedure and terms of lease of land lots in industrial zones. These terms are as follows: free rental of land (equipped with infrastructure, electricity and gas connections and access roads) for the period of 80 years to all investors who hire minimum 17 workers per hectare of land. Such rental of land lots may result in the creation of 200 new jobs - said Branko Gajin, mayor of Srbobran.

He explained that the government's regulation stipulating the necessity of its consent in any case of the rental of land below the land's market value, or free rental in case of Srbobran, had slowed down the procedure significantly, but everything had been successfully resolved with the help of some people from the provincial administration.

The mayor and the Municipal Council will determine the rules for the future competition within the next few days.

- Our wish is that agricultural processors express their interest and invest in our industrial zones in order for producers to get a better market for their products, but that does not mean that all others are not welcome. An open competition will be announced very soon and it will last for a month or two. Our attractive terms have already drawn the attention of some investors - said Gajin.

Aforementioned industrial zones are situated alongside the road to Novi Sad and the road to Turija.
