Russians and Swiss to have capital power supply facility worth 600m EUR built in Novi Sad - warm radiators and new jobs

The representatives of Russian company "Technopromexport", Swiss company "Mentor energy" and company "Mentor energy" Serbia have signed the contract on construction of gas-powered steam power plant-heating plant on the territory of Novi Sad.

The contract on joint investment and construction have been signed by the president of company "Mentor energy" Mihael Vurmser, the manager of Serbia-based office of that company, Milan Bačević, through which the business worth 600m EUR will be realized, and the director general of "Technopromexport" Sergej Mojožajev.

Future TE-TO Novi Sad 2006 will be one of the biggest investments and it will consist of two blocks, i.e. two gas and one steam turbines of total power of 900 MW.

According to the words of the manager of the Novi Sad Institute for City Construction, Igor Mirović, parallel with the construction of that power supply facility, the hot water pipeline 2.5 km long will also be built. It will be used for directing the steam made during the electricity production to the remote heating system of Novi Sad.

The plan is that the construction of future TE-TO Novi Sad 2006 lasts for about three years and that, for that purpose, 5,000 - 6,000 workers from Novi Sad and surrounding area be hired. Also, once that facility is completed, it will employ about 500 workers.
